Arafa Islamic Center (AIC)
Located in one of New York City’s busiest Transportation Junction.
Arafa Islamic Center (AIC) is a non-profit, and a NYC largest Islamic Center Tax-exempt organization registered in the State of New York. AIC began its journey in 2006 under the name of “Masjid Al-Arapha”. In 2013 we added DBA “Arafa Islamic Center” to its legal name to facilitate broader scope of service from the organization.
Arafa Islamic Center is located in one of New York City’s busiest Transportations Junction. There are many public and private schools, and shopping centers located in this area. These available facilities have attracted hundreds of Muslim immigrants to this area. It is not an option anymore but a necessity that we establish a dynamic community sharing the cohesive desire for a progressive future based on Islamic morals and value.

Urgent Need
For Construction
Presently, AIC is NYC largest Islamic Center & located in the basement of two retail stores and can accommodate approximately 400 Mussalies with separate prayer areas for brothers and sisters. The Muslim community is growing rapidly, now it is not an option anymore but a necessity that we establish a dynamic community sharing the cohesive desire for a progressive future based on Islamic morals and values.
The current facility is being utilized to its maximum capacity in the most efficient manner possible. The provisions of several programs put on hold for lack of space.
Highlights of AIC Building
MULTI-PURPOSE BASEMENT
• Car parking and Open space • Fully operating kitchen with serving station • 13 wudu stations and 3 bathrooms • Preparation Room for washing deceased (Ghusul for the janaza)
FIRST FLOOR
• Prayer Hall for brothers (occupancy of 335 Musalees) • Elevator lobby, Youth Room, Family Room and Office space • 3 wudu stations and 1 handicapped accessible bathroom
SECOND FLOOR
• Prayer Hall for Sisters (Occupancy of 262 Musalees) • Children room with bathroom and diaper station • Sister’s recreation area • 7 wudu stations and 4 bathrooms
THIRD FLOOR
• 5 classrooms with 2 windows in each room • Main hall for assembly and recess • Wudu stations and bathrooms for boys and girls • Caretaker room with bathroom
